Therapy for Therapists
The unique work of being a therapist
Where the absolute privilege of watching healing unfold in clients we deeply care about simultaneously exists with moral injury, vicarious trauma, inadequate supervision and/or support, and unreasonable caseloads.
Where the honor of holding meaningful, brave work with clients simultaneously exists with burnout, emotionally challenging transference, financial strain, systems that fail our clients, and isolation.
Where the joy of witnessing resilience and creativity in clients exists simultaneously with family members having no idea what you actually do for work.
You are not alone.
a space of your own
My commitment to my clients who are therapists is to treat you with the same trauma-informed and attachment-focused care as all of my other clients. Though highly relational and at times perhaps playful or humorous, our work will be protected from tipping over into supervisory support or yapping like friends. This is a space for you.
Research has shown that professional counselors often have higher ACE scores than the general public, which often leads us into helping professions. I’m honored to co-create a space of authenticity, meaning-making, and emotional depth for those who have survived their own trauma and hardships and use their experiences to support healing for others in their professional life.
I know that being a therapist is just one of the many unique and wonderful parts of you, and all parts are welcome.
How I can help
Therapists spend so much of their lives making room for other people that it can be meaningful to have a space where you do not have to be the one holding everything. I use AEDP, EMDR, and parts work to help fellow therapists slow down and tend to the emotions that have been carefully managed, old wounds that still echo in the present, and protective parts that may have learned to over-function, analyze, achieve, or care for everyone else first. Together, we can move toward greater self-compassion, deeper connection to your own inner world, and greater authenticity and self-confidence.
Let’s face this together.
